|Full Name:||Celty Sturluson|
Celty is a slim woman, clad in black clothes of Native design with her own twist to it. Over a black skintight suit she has a layered coat, black gloves up past her wrists, knee-length boots and a peculiar yellow helmet to complete the image.
Celty has been spotted around the Fortress, riding a huge black headless lizard like the Oren peacekeepers use. For the most part she keeps to herself, thogh she was part of the vigilantes who fought the rioters during the Blackout at the end of the Pherusi observance.
According to legend, Dullahans are faeries from Ireland that carry their heads underneath their arm. During the night they rode across the land, stopping only where a person would die. Twenty years ago a female Dullahan awoke in a graveyard in her native country of Ireland, remembering that she was a supernatural creature, how to use her powers and her name; Celty Sturluson. Problem was, she didn't remember anything else as she had lost her head. The desperate search began, and Celty tracked the sense of the lost head to the coast, where she hid away on a boat headed towards Japan as a stowaway, but not before changing her headless horse into a black motorcycle in order to blend in easier. Easier said than done.
It was during this journey that she was found by a curious four year old boy, Kishitani Shinra. Rather than being scared of the headless woman, he showed curiousity and interest. He alerted his father, Kishitani Shingen, an eccentric physician who was fascinated by Celty. A deal was made; if Celty were to allow him to vivisect her, he would offer her a place to stay when they reached Japan. Strangely enough, Celty agreed to this.
The vivisection, performed by both father and son, revealed a great deal about the Dullahan. While she had something that appeared to be vital organs, they served no function. She had arteries and veins, but they were not filled with blood. In addition, the cuts that were made healed by themselves within minutes. Perhaps due to the fact that it was painful or traumatic, Celty doesn't remember much of the vivisection itself.
The Black Rider
Celty continued her search for her head when she arrived in Japan, taking on the guise of a biker on a black bike, over the years becoming a legend in Ikebukuro where she and Shinra had taken up residence. Her primary mission was to locate her head, which she was able to sense in the area, and on the side she did various courier missions for a great deal of people. There were some false leads and many frustration, not to mention peculiar things happening across the city. She got involved with an internet group called the Dollars in addition to frequenting a chat room online, a group she later would see much more of as a war between gangs broke out and Celty found that some of her friends were dragged into it. After an incident with her mistaking a girl for having her head, Celty went overboard and drew notice by all the people in the area. All of Ikebukuro became aware of her, and a traffic cop was even drawn in in attempt to deal with Celty. Amidst all this, she slowly began to realize her true feelings for Shinra, and slowly coming to terms with who she was, even without a head. But her search was still not over.
Waking up yet again
Just as she was starting to get settled down in Ikebukuro and find peace of mind, Celty was cloned and brought into the Wastelands. After a rather scary awakening, Celty was kept for a week in the Arc before released into the Fortress. This way she was given time to adjust, as it took time before she was able to sense things around her again after being remade and awakening in a weakened state. The details of this week are hazy to Celty, and she was only content to be allowed out and into the Fortress. A whole new place where she could still feel the presence of her head. So the search continues.
Unlike the cruel Dullahans from folklore, legends and old wives' tales, Celty is actually rather gentle. She does not wish to harm others, even taking their own happiness in consideration even when it might conflict with her own motives and wishes. If somebody around her is feeling down, she will do her best to cheer them up as best as she can. It's not uncommon for her to act like an older sister to some people, taking them under her wing and protecting them should they need a hand.
Celty's goal is to retrieve her head, which she can sense somewhere in the Wastelands. It is her main motivation, as she fears what would happen to her should something happen to her head. So in order to control her own life and also to regain her lost memories, Celty will follow whatever clue she might find in attempt to reclaim her lost head.
Since she is a supernatural being, one would expect Celty to not be easily scared. But she is, particularly of aliens which seems to be her main fear. Other legends and otherworldly tend to make her equally nervous, strangely enough. When she was chased by a traffic police force once, she was terrified at how they worked together and she had to spend an entire evening to get away from them. When she related that event, she was visibly shaken and showed just how much it had terrified her. In general, Celty gets nervous when she is unsuccessful in intimidating others as it's rather seldom it happens, and Celty wonders just why that is.
For a scary harbinger of death, Celty adores cute items. Cute helmets, outfits and movies seem to be favourites of hers, and Celty clearly acts like a young girl whenever she has her sights on something she likes.
In most situations where Celty finds herself in trouble, she will do her best to intimidate her opponents instead of resorting to violence. Most of that is done by using smoke and darkness to further drive home the idea that she isn't human, as well as showing off the rest of her powers.
In her original world, Celty was basically an immortal being. Being recreated in the Arc however was a bit tricky, and the scientists had to make a few shortcuts in order to make her able to function. While physically stronger than a human and able to handle more abuse than a normal person, Celty can be killed. Unlike her original form she now has vital organs that serve some function, and her body will suffer from damage given. If she goes for some minutes without getting injured further, her body will begin to regenerate, which only takes a minute or two.
Despite the lack of a head, Celty is still able to sense things around her. She can see and hear, and it's speculated that it's because of the black smoke emanating from the top of her neck.
Food has become a necessity for Celty, though she requires less food than a human. Since she has no mouth, she "eats" by having her smoke break the food down and then absorb it into herself.
One of Celty's most characteristic powers is her ability to create nearly everything out of black smoke. Since the smoke is basically an extension of herself, Celty cant make items that is larger than her own body mass. These all add up, so she can't create an indefinite number of items.
Solid objects - The smoke can take any shape and become a solid object that even other people can use if it's given to them. Celty has been known to give helmets to people whom she takes for rides, and the items can last indefinitely as long as Celty is conscious. She can't create too complicated items, like mechanical objects.%R%R%tScythe - Celty's preferred weapon is a large scythe that she uses to "cut down" her opponents with. Unlike a normal scythe, this doesn't physically cut people, it renders them unconscious for a few hours. Even with her nasty reputation as a Dullahan, Celty is surprisingly non-violent and doesn't aim to kill people.
Black sphere - If there is an object that Celty wants to get rid of, she merely wraps it into black smoke that becomes a black sphere. Any item that is caught in this can't be retrieved by anybody else without first breaking through the sphere, which has the same strength as steel.
Other than that, Celty is known to create large webs, spikes to intimidate people and coil her smoke up around in the nearby area. Her range is about 15 feet, and the longer away she tries to spread her smoke, the less durable it will be. In the immediate area around Celty her smoke can be as strong as reinforced steel, while the smoke further away than 15 feet can be easily broken with a regular melee weapon and enough force.
One of Celty's main interests is computers, and she frequently went online to chat, read and watch movies. Likewise she enjoys video games and other forms of entertainment.
It's weird, considering the fact that Celty has no sense of taste, but she is a pretty good cook. Even though she has difficulty believing it herself and thinks her food tastes horrible.
Celty is an excellent rider, be it horseback, biking or something similar. With hundreds of years experience, it's not so weird. She is able to get around most places, jump hurdles and even drive down vertical areas if she has enough speed.
In order to communicate with people, Celty is dependant on text. Rather than dragging a notebook around with her, Celty has acquired a PDA that she types on when interacting with others.
For longer than she now remembers Celty has been in possession of a familiar spirit that once inhabited the corpse of a horse in order to serve as her mount. This familiar was brought with her into the Wastelands, and Celty was given the corpse of a killed beast that the spirit may possess and be of use to the Dullahan once more. If needed, Celty can alter the shape of the beast.
Most people are not used to the thought of people missing a head. For that reason Celty hides her lack of one by wearing a helmet. Not that she obsesses over it. When people have asked in the past to see, she has been willing to show what she is lacking. Around her friends and acquaintances she also tends to go without her helmet. In public she will wear a helmet in order to attract less attention and to cause a panic.%R%R%tCelty is still looking for her head, which she can still feel somewhere in the Wastelands. If the presence of her head gets stronger, Celty will drop everything else she is doing and go look for her head.
The science nodes about the Wastelands interfere with Celty's powers, making her unable to use her powers effectively nor for longer than a few seconds. The fluxes likewise make her powers unstable and difficult to control, so in these places Celty will avoid conflict.
Since Celty is lacking a head, she can't talk and communicate like most people can. In order to communicate with others, she must write (either done by PDA, pen and paper or more seldom, her smoke). In some cases this is extremely difficult, for instance if Celty is in a hurry or she has nothing at hand to write with.
